Mar- <br />shall Nichols, Soil Conservation Service, and Mr. Mike Nilson of the State <br />Office, S. C. S., appeared before the Council to discuss the recommendation <br />and request for reduction of the elevation of Lake Crook Reservoir. Mr. <br />Nichols stated that they were requesting the permanent lowering of grater <br />level of Lake Crook 2i feet; that wild life habitat would be established; <br />that recreational facilities could be provided at 50o cost being borne by <br />both the State and the City; that lowering of Lake Crook would expose <br />173 acres and would remove 2,532 acre feet of crater. Aix. Mike Wilson <br />stated that an environmental impact statement was 90% complete and that <br />the time table for the project was from one to two years minimum. After <br />discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Rainey to approve in principle the drawing down of Lake Crook 2i <br />feet, with the understanding all plans involving such be subject to ap- <br />proval by the City Council prior to any final action.
