72 <br />MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />September 17, 1974 <br />The Special feting of the City Council of the City of Paris on September 17, <br />1974, at 5 :15, was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the fol- <br />lowing Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, W. M. <br />(Dub) Moore, and Sara M. Stone. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, <br />City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the purpose of the Special Council Meeting <br />was to receive recommendations from the committee appointed to study the <br />bids and specifications for a tractor, backhoe loader received at the Regu- <br />lar Council Meeting on September 9, 1974. Mayor Brunette called for Coun- <br />cilman Whitaker., Chairman of the committee, for their recce- mmendations. <br />Councilman Whitaker stated that it was the recommendation of all members <br />of the committee that all bids be rejected and that the backhoe be xe -bid. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman King that <br />the recommendation of the Committee be approved. The motion carried: 5 <br />ayes, O nays. <br />City MAnager Sweatt then requested authorization to advertise for bads on <br />the backhoe equipment, such bids to be received October 16, 1974, tabulated <br />and presented to the City Council at the Special Meeting on October 21, <br />1974. A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Council- <br />man King that the request be granted.
