72 MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL September 17, 1974 The Special feting of the City Council of the City of Paris on September 17, 1974, at 5 :15, was called to order by Mayor J. M. Brunette, with the fol- lowing Councilmen present: Doyle Whitaker, Joe King, Brad Hutchison, W. M. (Dub) Moore, and Sara M. Stone. Also present were City Manager K. R. Sweatt, City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. Mayor Brunette announced that the purpose of the Special Council Meeting was to receive recommendations from the committee appointed to study the bids and specifications for a tractor, backhoe loader received at the Regu- lar Council Meeting on September 9, 1974. Mayor Brunette called for Coun- cilman Whitaker., Chairman of the committee, for their recce- mmendations. Councilman Whitaker stated that it was the recommendation of all members of the committee that all bids be rejected and that the backhoe be xe -bid. A motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman King that the recommendation of the Committee be approved. The motion carried: 5 ayes, O nays. City MAnager Sweatt then requested authorization to advertise for bads on the backhoe equipment, such bids to be received October 16, 1974, tabulated and presented to the City Council at the Special Meeting on October 21, 1974. A motion was made by Councilman Hutchison and seconded by Council- man King that the request be granted. The motion carried: 5 ayes, O nays. There being no other business, the meeting adjourned.
