MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL <br />June 14, 1976 <br />The Regular Meeting of the City Council was held on June 14, 1976 at 7:00 P. M. at <br />the City Hall. Mayor James M., Brunette called the meeting to order with the follow- <br />ing Councilmen present: George Fisher, Jr., Ben Hinds, David Philley, 0. L. Rainey, <br />Jimmy Don Stone, and Walter F. Williams. Also present were City .Manager K. R. Sweatt, <br />City Attorney T. K. Haynes, and City Clerk H. C. Greene. <br />Prayer was offered by Councilman Ben Hinds. <br />Mayor Brunette asked if there were any additions or.corrections to the minutes of <br />previous meetings as furnished the Council members. There being none, the minutes <br />were approved. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the first order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations, made by the Planning and Zoning Commission at its meeting on June 7, <br />T97o> <br />City ;fanager Sweatt presented the Tinal plat of the ��orningside Estates ?art 5 and <br />recommended its approval as had been done by the Planning and Zoning Commission, <br />provided that a bond in the amount of $2,125.00, covering incomplete work would be <br />posted, in accordance with Section 13 of the Sub- division regulations of the City <br />of Paris., After discussion, a motion was made by Councilman Rainey and seconded by <br />Councilman Hinds to approve the final plat subject to the requirements of the Direc- <br />tor of Public Works and subject to the posting of bond covering the incomplete items _._.. in the amount of $2,125.00 The motion carried:- 7 ayes., 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the next order of business would be consideration of <br />recommendations_:made by the Traffic Commission at its meeting on June 1.: 1976. <br />In accordance with the recommendation of the Traffic Commission who recommended the <br />placement of a "No Parking" zone on the north side of East Austin Street beginning <br />30 feet east of the intersection with 5th Street S. E.,-and west a distance of 200 <br />feet, a motion was made by Councilman Fisher and seconded by Councilman Rainey, <br />authorizing the preparation of the ordinance in accordance with the recommendation. <br />The motion carried; 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman.Hinds, authorizing <br />the preparation of an ordinance for presentation at a future Council meeting for <br />loading zones located on the north side of East Price Street, 30 feet from its inter- <br />section with North Main; south side of 100 Block of Bonham Street, 30 feet east from <br />its intersection with 2nd Street S. E.; north side of Clarksville Street in the 10 <br />Block, 30 feet from the intersection with South Main; and on the east side of North <br />Main Street in the second Block, 30 feet from its_ intersection with Price Street. <br />- - The- motion _carried__ 7.._- ayes_,._0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette declared the public hearing open on the proposed street assessment <br />for improvements to Jefferson Road, from the east boundary line of State Highway 19 <br />and 24 East to the east boundary line of the Paris Independent School District. <br />
