Ordinance No. 2292: v 754 <br />"AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, PROVIDING <br />THAT THE CODE OF ORDINANCES, CITY OF PARIS, PARIS,TEXAS, BE <br />AMENDED BY REVISING SECTION 12 -1 OF SAID CODE, PROVIDING FOR <br />THE COMPOSITION OF THE PARIS FIRE DEPARTMENT; REPEALING ALL <br />ORDINANCES OR PARTS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; AND <br />PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE OF JULY 12, 1976." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Stone and seconded by Councilman <br />.1 Hinds for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ordinance No. 2293: <br />"AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EXTENSION OF CERTAIN BOUNDARY <br />LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, AND THE ANNEXATION <br />OF CERTAIN TERRITORY CONSISTING OF 12.247 ACRES, MORE OR LESS, <br />THAN TEN PER CENT (10 %) OF THE TERRITORY INCLUDED WITHIN ITS <br />PRESENT CITY LIMITS, WHICH SAID TERRITORY LIES ADJACENT TO <br />AND ADJOINS THE PRESENT BOUNDARY LIMITS OF THE CITY OF PARIS, <br />PARIS, TEXAS." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman <br />Swaim for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette requested a volunteer to serve as a representative of the City of <br />Paris on the City - School Committee. Councilman Hinds volunteered for the assign- <br />ment. A motion was made by Councilman Williams and seconded by Councilman Swaim <br />to appoint Councilman Hinds to the City - School Committee. The motion carried: 7 <br />ayes, 0 nays. <br />Ordinance No. 2294: <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE TAX RATE AND THE TAX LEVY, AND LEVYING <br />AD VALOREM TAXES FOR THE CITY OF PARIS, PARIS, TEXAS, FOR THE <br />YEAR 1976, UPON ALL TAXABLE PROPERTY WITHIN THE SAID CITY OF <br />PARIS, TEXAS, IN CONFORMITY WITH THE CHARTER PROVISIONS AND <br />ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES OR PARTS <br />OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH." <br />was presented. A motion was made by Councilman Hinds and seconded by Councilman <br />Williams for the adoption of the ordinance. The motion carried: 7 ayes, 0 nays. <br />Mayor Brunette announced that the City Council would go into executive session. <br />Discussion was had concerning airline service. Mayor Brunette declared the execu- <br />tive session closed and the regular session of the Council open. <br />City Manager Sweatt advised the Council of certification of utility served areas <br />required by the Public Utility Commission and further advised the Council that the <br />Marvin - Jennings Water Corporation was serving customers inside the city limits of <br />Paris. Mr. Sweatt advised the Council that if no objection were presented, the <br />City Manager would represent the City of Paris at a hearing at the Public Utility <br />Commission to be held in Austin, Texas, with the purpose of protecting the area <br />served with water and sewer service by the City of Paris. <br />There being no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br />MAYOR JAMES M.
