Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. <br />15. Deliberate and provide direction on acquisition of the former roadside park on Highway <br />82 West for the purpose of using it as a City Park. <br />A Motion to remove this item from the table was made by Council Member Pickle and - <br />seconded by Council Member Frierson. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. <br />As requested at the last meeting, Mr. Anderson provided City Council with a revised <br />option of cost for screening material, which includes a wooden fence. Council Members <br />discussed the cost factors and maintenance of a wooden fence and a metal fence. Council <br />Members also discussed the possibility of shrubs as opposed to fencing. <br />A Motion to acquire the park and bring additional information back to Council about the <br />screening options at a later date was made by Council Member Pickle and seconded by Council <br />Member McCarthy. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. <br />18. Deliberate and act on RESOLUTION NO. 2011 -085: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY <br />COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PARIS, TEXAS, APPROVING CHANGE ORDER NO. <br />TWO AND AUTHORIZING FINAL PAYMENT TO R.K. HALL CONSTRUCTION, <br />FOR THE SOUTH COLLEGIATE DRIVE RECONSTRUCTION — SOUTH LOOP 286 <br />TO BIG SANDY CREEK PROJECT; MAKING OTHER FINDINGS AND <br />PROVISIONS RELATED TO THE SUBJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />Shawn Napier said the original contract amount was $1,465,740.40 and the final contract <br />amount, if approved would be $1,474,897.54 for a total change amount of $9,157.14. <br />A Motion to approve this item was made by Council Member McCarthy and seconded by <br />Council Member Pickle. Motion carried, 7 ayes — 0 nays. <br />19. Report from Chief Grooms on operation of the Fire Department. <br />Lt. Golden and Dispatcher Hill from the Paris Police Department answered questions <br />from Mayor Hashmi about first responders and dispatching emergency vehicles to 911 calls <br />including protocol for dispatching the fire department. <br />Chief Grooms gave a report on staffing levels of the Fire Department, as well as locations <br />of the fire stations. <br />M <br />
