Mr. Napier said
he thought there was one across the street from Ms. Palmer on Smallwood Road. Mr. Napier
said staff was looking at providing sewer to several of the residents in that area and the City of
Reno was open to the ideal and expressed an interest in discussing this matter. Mr. Napier said
they hoped to have an answer as soon as possible. Mayor Hashmi asked for a motion to table
this item allowing Mr. Napier time to meet with the City of Reno and get additional information.
A Motion to table this item was made by Council Member McCarthy and seconded by
Council Member Avila. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays.
A Motion to return Council Member Grossnickle to the meeting was made by Council
Member McCarthy and seconded by Council Member Avila. Motion carried, 5 ayes — 0 nays.
Mayor Hashmi recessed the City Council at 8:03 p.m. and reconvened the meeting at
8:07 p.m. and asked that item 20 be moved forward on the Agenda:
A Motion to move item 20 forward was made by Council Member McCarthy and
seconded by Council Member Avila. Motion carried, 6 ayes — 0 nays.
20. Deliberate on repairs to the Trail de Paris; and provide direction to City Staff.
Public Works Director Ron Sullivan said that in January Council had given him direction
to retain the services of a professional engineer to evaluate the trail and to prepare plans and
specifications for the repair of the trial. Mr. Sullivan said they requested proposals from seven
firms and had received two responses and based upon those responses, Staff had requested a
priced proposal from Hayter Engineering. He also said that they were currently in the process of
negotiating the Scope of Services and respective fee and once negotiations were completed, that
he would submit the completed proposal to the City Council. Mr. Sullivan said he should have
the proposal prior to the next meeting and if Council approved the proposal, Hayter Engineer
would draw up the construction plans for the project and he would bring something back to the
Council. Several Council Members expressed a desire to have construction plans and a contract
submitted for consideration at the same time the proposal is submitted. Following discussion, it
was a consensus of the Council that the proposal and contract for construction plans would not
be presented together.
15. Deliberate and act on evaluation of City Council/Council Members and future plans.
Due to the length of the meeting, a Motion to table this item until the next meeting was
made by Mayor Hashmi and seconded by Council Member Pickle.
