M94
Regular Council Meeting
July 23, 2012
Page 2
occurrence would not happen to another family. Mr. Flanary said that an apology to Roger and
Sharon Stripland would have been and still was fitting and proper and was the right thing for
City staff to do. Mr. Flanary shamed Mr. Godwin and Mr. Anderson. Mr. Flanary also said
since writing his presentation, he had reason to believe that a public apology and a reprimand of
the person or persons responsible was forthcoming and that hopefully, that would bring this
unfortunate matter to a conclusion.
James Price, 1230 Shiloh — he said he was concerned about the West side of Paris,
because of the high weeds on vacant lots, as well as snakes.
A.J. Hashmi — he read a letter from an eight year old boy who expressed the City should
clean up the city parks for safety and enjoyment purposes.
Consent Agenda
Mayor Hashmi inquired of Council Members if they wished to pull any items from the
Consent Agenda for discussion. Council Member Wright asked that the minutes from the July
9"' meeting be pulled for discussion. Council Member Wright asked that item 14 of the minutes
be corrected to reflect at length the discussion regarding the Roger Stripland matter. City Clerk
Janice Ellis said she would correct the minutes and bring them back for approval.
With exception of the July 9, 2012 minutes, a Motion to approve the Consent Agenda
was made by Council Member Wright and seconded by Council Member Drake. Motion carried,
5 ayes — 0 nays.
5. Deliberate and act on the approval of minutes from the meeting on July 9, 2012.
6. Receive and deliberate on reports and/or minutes from the following boards,
commissions, and committees:
a. Traffic Commission (5 -8 -2012)
b. Planning & Zoning Commission (6 -4 -2012)
c. Paris Economic Development Corporation (6 -12 -2012; 6 -15 -2012; 6 -18 -2012; 6-
29 -2012)
7. Discuss June monthly financial report.
8. Discuss June drainage ditch maintenance report.
9. Discuss dilapidated structure report.
10.
